破壊音マイコ (Hakaine Maiko) is an UTAU voicebank. She's known for her unique voice, as all her vocal samples are delivered in "screamo" style, rather than a traditional singing style.
Due to this, she has a reputation for sounding bad, and is known as a hard to use voicebank! Many say that she is only suited to screamo songs, however she can also sound nice in rock, and metal songs. With good tuning, she can even sound good in idol-pop!
Some fun facts about her: her voice provider is the lead singer of DAZZLE VISION, despite her scary appearance and voice she has a cheerful and friendly personality, her last name kanji [破壊音] translates to 'destruction (破壊) sound (音).
When I, at age 13 or 14, was first getting into Vocaloid, and UTAU, I came across this video. One of the voicebanks in it was Maiko-chan. She stood out to me, and I never forgot her!
Almost a decade later, I noticed a trend on Youtube, compilations of voicebanks growls from the song Ghost Rule. I had a thought, 'What about that screamo voicebank? I bet she could growl lolol'. I looked but found no one had made a cover of Ghost Rule using Maiko. The idea wouldn't leave my head, so I, who knew nothing about UTAU or music in general, decided I'd do it myself. Since then I've been a Maiko enthusiast! I'm constantly searching for more covers/songs using her, and trying to gain her more fans! I love Maiko-chan!!
The Living Ghost is Alive // a very nice cover using primarily Rana, with Maiko providing screams in sections. shows off Maiko at her best while being enjoyable to non-screamo fans thanks to Rana's cute vocals.

Sometimes people call a poorly used/tuned Maiko a 'vacuum cleaner'. I think that's a pretty accurate description. But I still like her voice even when it's not at it's best <3 Maiko-chan, my cute little vacuum cleaner!! <3
If you'd like to use Maiko, I highly recommend re-doing her oto.ini manually. It really helps her to sound more clear. Make sure to also play around with resamplers and flags, I'm not too good at pitch-edits/tuning but that can also make a big difference. Mixing is also very very important! Maiko is certainly a usable voicebank she just has a learning curve and requires more work than others. But in my opinion she's worth it!
